Queensland Hot Rod Show - Milty Award 2015, 2016 & 2017

June 02, 2017

In 2015, Pat's Pro Resto's teamed up with Queensland Hot Rod Promotions (QHRP) to create and sponsor an award for the Queensland Hot Rod Show that aimed to achieve two things:
1. Honour someone who’s played a significant role in the history and development of the Queensland Hot Rod Show, an event that we all enjoy today.
 2. Motivate Australia's car builders and owners to build and bring their impressive vehicles to the Queensland Hot Rod show.
Pat’s Pro Resto’s was thrilled to award Nathan Borg with the inaugural Milty Award in 2015 for his outstanding Datsun 1200. In 2016, red appeared to be the winning colour again, when the PPR team awarded Peter Elliot the Milty Award for his stunning 1934 Ford Tudor 'Simplicity'.
Both Nathan and Peter were awarded $3000 prize money and have their names listed on the Milty Perpetual Trophy. From team PPR, big congratulations to both gentlemen and their families.
In 2017, team PPR are stoked to be sponsoring the award again, with the view that Brisbane will feature 'Australia's finest' vehicles at this show.
Named after a top bloke and fantastic announcer at car events across the nation, the Milty Award was created in honour of the late Milton Adey.  The QHRPs association with Milton Adey goes back to the 70's, when the show was held at Indooroopilly Shopping Town! Naming this top award after Milton is our tribute to his extraordinary contribution to the modified vehicle scene.
